'Life Rock' is an original acrylic painting on canvas board, 30cm x40cm

Life Rock at Hartland Quay is very special. Local sea swimmers take themselves out and back from it, rain or shine, Summer or Winter every day of the year.....and don't let them fool you, that sea is freezing in a heatwave!!!!

It's an iconic part of Hartland Quay, with bundles of history, geology, a beautiful bay to swim in....and of course the wonderful Hartland Quay Hotel, pub & gift shop.

I have spent so many hours with Life Rock in my view, watching huge wave strike her during the late Summer tides, watching the bravest of the locals climb and dive off (disclaimer - do not try this, those who leap from the rock know exactly which safe spot to go from to avoid any rocks). So many summer days spent on the sand (or rocks depending on what the storms have brought in...) watching my children grow up with the background sound of the ocean singing in my ears.

I have tried to capture the 'life' in Life Rock'.....need to get out there and touch her again.......
